What is friendship all about? Is it love for one another? Is it a connection with certain people? Is it a spiritual and emotional connection that exceeds connections with other people? Is it what we learn from one another that keeps a friendship going and makes the connection stronger? I believe it is part of Gods plan. We all have casual friends, but then we have the ones that touch the very core of our being. The friendships that we know will be there no matter what happens. Friends that we can call and say anything to and they will help us resolve… solve or comfort us through the problem. A friendship based on unconditional love.
I recently spent several days with friends. Friends who listened to whatever I needed to say without judgment. Friends who laughed, cried and felt the emotions I was feeling. Friends with wisdom who know they have a spiritual purpose in life. Friends I know will always be there without a doubt.
I was talking to someone last night about his large circle of friends. He was telling me how they all help each other out. They feel like it balances out in the end and none of them hesitate to help each other because they know this. Most of them don’t talk about it a lot, because they don’t want to get all mushy. Mushy, like girlfriends get, but believe me, it’s still love that they have for each other!
So my hope today is that you have at least one friend who you feel safe enough with to tell them anything and know that it will be kept in confidence even if they don’t approve. I hope they will support you in your decisions and please keep them in your prayers. Remember, friendship works both ways. It is a special gift and should be valued.
